this product is worth every penny, i use it almost everyday and it has never given up on me, great buy
When in open circuit, it measures 6V DC instead of 0V. I bought this mutlimeter based on the great reviews it got but was thoroughly disappointed. The multimeter is inaccurate in reading small resistances - it repeatedly measured my speaker resistance as 4.7ohm instead of 8ohm. And it is very slow to respond to measurements. I am returning it to Amazon.
This item not even awesome its way more than that I recommended to every one who works in the IT field or EE.
It doesn't matter much because if you're testing a 1.5v battery and the screen says 0.3, it's "dead". They work, but the probes are more than likely to fall when you pick up the multimeter.so keep the caps on to prevent stabbing yourself. The other issue I had was more of a geek thing.
I do computer work and I frequently have to test for power. The small probes with this multimeter fit all but the most microscopic power adapters, so it proves useful getting tight spaces.
First of all, I do like my new multimeter. The two "hooks" for the probes to hold them off the table don't hold very well at all.
You can use this thing on your vehicle and inside the home, so it's very versatile. For people like me than don't know a ton about electrical power, the auto ranging feature makes testing VERY simple. However, the neatest features of this multimeter were.cheap.
The three LED's that show the power for the batteries on my multimeter no longer work, and that happened after less than 24 hours after opening the packaging. I just like stuff that's supposed to be lit to actually light up when they are supposed to.
This multimeter is exactly what I needed for around the house and in the garage. Definitely a good purchase.
